Sarah’s Bio

Sarah Marshall is an accomplished leader and a expert in developing strategy for designing, deploying and managing business and functional operations, most recently taking on the forefront of technology in Google Search as it tackles Generative AI. Her nonlinear professional journey has given her insight into a multitude of industries, business models, enterprise functions and international business management. She has had a long career of stepping into difficult situations in vague and chaotic circumstances, bringing guidance, building coalitions, and deploying light, durable, operational frameworks that meet the organization’s needs.

Sarah started her life in Hawaii and was raised in the Sierra Nevada foothills of the California Central Valley, with regular forays to the Pine Ridge Sioux reservation in South Dakota to spend time with family. These early diverse experiences have strongly influenced her perspective on the power of diverse voices and the insights gained by participating in multiple local cultures. These experiences and insights provide a foundation for her professional work, navigating an organization’s numerous micro-cultures to develop solutions that serve everyone.

In keeping with her diverse background Sarah served as a sailor in the US Navy’s submarine service, as a design engineer, operations and engineering leader, strategist, enterprise program manager, enterprise transformation leader, consultant, and entrepreneur. She has led and supported organizations ranging from large corporate enterprises to small businesses, to community organizations, to a Burning Man village.

Sarah strongly believes in community contribution having served in roles as Board Chair for the Tenderloin Resource Center, Co-lead for the City of San Francisco Transgender Taskforce, and co-president of the Feminine Leadership Academy. She loves to mentor those seeking to expand their capabilities and taking on complex challenges that force her to develop new capabilities.
